How do I find my staging site?

Your stage site will be your domain with ".vt.edu" replaced by ".stage.cms.vt.edu" (eg. sandbox.vt.edu -> sandbox.stage.cms.vt.edu).

Please note that the staging site will not include the "www" portion of the domain name unless that is part of the actual domain due to additional uses of the parent, e.g., mail.site.vt.edu.

Once the certificate creation process is completed, stage sites are generally protected by pid/passphrase authentication so information is not publicly available and cannot be crawled by search engines.

NOTE: If you have stakeholders external to the vt.edu authentication system, they will not be able to view the staged pages directly.

Pages in the staged site will require publishing to be viewed at the staged URLs. This includes the site level and 'en' pages. When you request your site to be launched, the items on the stage site will become the content displayed on your launched site, so it is important to publish all content pages before launch.
