User roles and privileges
There are four types of user roles within the Ensemble permissions structure. Details about each of these roles are below.
Author role
This is the basic level access for an Ensemble CMS user for a website. This role can create and edit content within a site, but cannot publish. All Author level actions are made through a workflow that must be approved by a Publisher or Web_admin user for the site. Use this role for users that will be contributing content that must be approved for editorial or stakeholder review before being published.
Publisher role
This is the intermediate level access for an Ensemble CMS user for a website. This role can create and edit content within a site, as well as publish content and review and approve workflow content for publishing. The Publisher role is capable of unpublishing and deleting any page or asset in the site(s) they can access. Publishers also have access to the Advanced page properties tab and can add redirects and page body classes.
Web_admin role
This is the advanced level access for an Ensemble CMS user for a website. This role can do everyting the Publisher role can do within a site, as well as manage users and configure site properties.
Web_designer role
The Web_designer role is used to manage users that have access to a site's custom local assets repository. Custom local assets allow site-wide customizations for both CSS and JavaScript, as well as other site level customizations using approved branding guidelines.
