How do I ... Get dam out of a resource name

Ensembles digital asset management (dam) is used to store images and other binary resources. This results in resource URLs that look like:

http://sis.vt.edu/content/dam/sis_vt_edu/pwrules/password-rules.xml

However, rewrite rules exists that resolve URLs for each specific domain that allow the content, dam, and internal site name to be omitted from the path. So you can use a shorter, cleaner URL for print and non-Ensemble systems in the form of:

http://sis.vt.edu/pwrules/password-rules.xml

This can also be used to provide a robot.txt and other file types that you would like in your content structure.

Please test the binary paths you create as there are a few edge cases.
